My favorite little trick-or-treaters (1999)
When Bridget at Bake at 350 suggested pumpkin as this month's flavor, I knew just what I planned to make. A few years ago one of my "little pumpkins" and I made some cut out cookies that were pumpkin flavored. She *loved* them, but I lost the recipe and we've never made them since. So, it was my goal to find the recipe again so I could fulfill her request.
I searched the internet and came up with a couple of possible recipes. Based on the ingredients I had on hand, I chose one and baked the cookies. (recipe I used)

rolling and cutting
all baked...
The next step was to make a simple cream cheese frosting.
3 T butter
3 oz cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar (more if needed)
2 tsp vanilla
2 T milk
mix well.
Then tint and frost.
all done!
This was a nice simple cookie. Since they're just for fun, I chose simple-to-decorate shapes and didn't go all out. But they're still pretty cute.
Personally, I don't think the recipe is to-die-for or anything, but my baby girl likes them and they're kind of a nice change for the normal cut-out cookie.

those are very cute and look really tasty right now too!
ReplyDeleteLove those candy corns! That cream cheese frosting sounds wonderful! Thanks so much for linking!
ReplyDeleteCute cookies...look oh so yummy!
ReplyDeleteEven cuter...YOUR ADORABLE DOG! Oh my goodness...what kind of dog is that!
And the day in the pasture with the cows sounds delightful...sometimes I'm scared of cows though...I don't know why!
Happy Halloween!
Thanks, Teresa. Our dog is a Cairn terrier (like a blonde Toto).
ReplyDeleteI was a little freaked out by the cows, too. I was wearing a red sweatshirt and I asked my husband if cows reacted to red like bulls do. lol. Thanks for commenting!
